 2022 NovaNexus Award

The Alliance for Innovation in Integrated Healthcare (AIIH) is pleased to announce the NovaNexus Awards. Nova pertains to the appearance of a bright light, and Nexus is the connection of 2 or more things. As we focus on innovation across the entire healthcare ecosystem, these compounded words effectively convey the focus of the awards.

The NovaNexus Awards were established to identify and reward innovations in the healthcare ecosystem that have proven successful in improving outcomes, innovatively impacting the payment system, and facilitating partnerships that enhance efficiency and ultimately the health of individuals and communities. The awards will highlight the most compelling new ideas in healthcare that have the potential to radically change the current system of care.

Nominate Now

Individuals and organizations may be nominated in the following categories:

Value-Based Care
New Product or Service
Nexus Partnerships
Data and Analytics
Payment Systems
Cost-Savings

The criteria for the awards include the following:

  • Concept
    • How was the opportunity identified to create a new service or market or process? Innovation starts with a concept. Understanding the discovery process and the filling of a market need and how this contributed to the development of the innovation to final implementation is key.
  • Partnership
    • Often, the value of an innovation is the ability to effectively work with others that have varying skills, insights, and impact. Understanding how others can add strength to the final outcome is important.
  • Value
    • What is the value proposition and how does it fill a need in the market? What value is added for each stakeholder? What is the relationship between its cost and benefits as well as its economic impact and desirability?
  • Impact
    • Understanding the immediate and longer-term impact the innovation has on the healthcare ecosystem as a whole and how it benefits the patient is important. Can the solution establish a vision or be the basis of a larger system or platform of innovations and how it might be an inspiration to future innovators?
  • Market Engagement
    • Clear impact to the market is significant. Understanding how the solution was/is positioned in the market and the message and broader story of the innovation is communicated is key to success. Interesting examples of how consumers have been engaged and how the offering has been delivered and made available to the marketplace is important. In addition, how the innovator engaged consumers in new ways of access with lower costs and took unique approaches to managing population health are of particular interest.

Acknowledging the fact that innovation can take many shapes and forms, the specific criteria for the awards are broad and can include approaches that touch the above categories from any individual and organization involved in the healthcare ecosystem. All companies, regardless of industry, domain, or innovation within the ecosystem are encouraged to engage.
